Charles Sharkey

Charles P. Sharkey was born in Glasgow in 1958. He graduated from Glasgow University and worked for 25 years as a criminal lawyer. His first novel, Dark Loch, was published by Ringwood Publishing on the 30th October 2014. The novel is an epic tale of the effects of the Great War on a remote crofting community on the west coast of Scotland and the devastating impact that the war had on the lives of the main characters. In December of 2016, Ringwood published his second novel, The Volunteer, which is a powerful story of the Troubles that plagued Northern Ireland for almost three decades. It follows the struggles of two Belfast families from opposite sides of the sectarian divide. His third novel, The Memoirs of Franz Schreiber, is a beguiling story set in Berlin between the wars, which captures a period of European History that has shaped the world we live in today.
