Andy McWain is a jazz pianist, composer, and author from Boston. He has performed improvised music throughout the United States, and in Germany, Switzerland, Japan, and China. His ensemble recordings (Starfish, Vigil, Resemblance, Interpreter, Mishawum, Temporary, Nerve, and Live at Audible Think) are available on the indie/co-op label Fuller Street Music. In addition to JAZZ PRACTICE IDEAS, McWain has written a couple short books to help musicians become more entrepreneurial with the tools available online with web 3.0. For many years, McWain was a full-time faculty member of the music department at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. McWain holds a master's degree in music composition from the New England Conservatory of Music (Boston).
