Laura K. Meier

Laura Meier is a California estate planning attorney and the author of three books on helping families protect, provide, and pass on what matters, including two Amazon #1 bestsellers. Her most recent book, Guided by Grace: A Catholic Journey Through Wills, Trusts, and Estate Planning (2024), is the only Catholic estate planning book published with the Catholic Church’s imprimatur, granted by Most Rev. Kevin W. Vann, Bishop of Orange.

Laura founded Meier Law Firm in Newport Beach, California, in 2010 from her kitchen table with one idea: families deserve an attorney who knows their story, explains the law clearly, and stays with them for the long run. Through the firm, she has helped thousands of California families plan for the people they love. Her earlier books are Good Parents Worry, Great Parents Plan (2014) and The Family Nest Egg (Diversion Books and Penguin Random House, 2021), which was endorsed by Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran.

A frequent voice on family and estate planning, Laura has appeared on EWTN, KTLA, NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox, and in Worth Magazine. She is regularly invited to speak at universities, churches, corporations, and nonprofits, and has delivered hundreds of talks and workshops.

Laura and her husband, Josh, are the parents of four children and are raising their family in Newport Beach. Everything she writes comes from the same place: helping parents protect the people they love, provide for the future, and pass on what matters most. Guided by Grace is Laura’s Catholic family stewardship initiative, created to help families bring faith into the decisions that shape their lives and legacies.
