Alberto R. Estrada

I was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1953. I studied Biology at the University of Havana, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences in 1981, specializing in Vertebrate Zoology. I immigrated to the United States in 1997 and settled in Puerto Rico, where I lived until mid-2015. I worked as an adjunct professor at Metropolitan University and as a science teacher at María Reina Academy. During those years, I actively collaborated with the Current Caribbean Marine Mammal Laboratory.

Over the years as an active researcher, I have published more than fifty articles in peer-reviewed journals across Cuba, the United States, Europe, and Latin America, focusing on the biology of Cuban amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. I have also written several articles on fauna for newspapers in Cuba and Puerto Rico. I currently live in Pembroke Pines, Florida, United States.
