Alastair Macartney is a BASE jumping World Champion, a world record holder and a champion parachutist. He has led a team of human-flight specialists on projects most people would file under impossible, including wingsuit flights through the Swiss mountains, and has raised money and awareness for charity along the way.
Born in Hong Kong to British parents, he spent twenty years serving as a British Army Officer before starting over. A heavy parachute landing in 2011 injured the base of his spine; the long recovery, and the mental fight that came with it, shaped how he thinks about fear, stamina and what counts as success. Today he lives near Seattle with his wife and three kids.
