Oscar Ayotzintli

Born in Mexico City, Oscar Ayotzintli moved to New York City where he earned a scholarship at The Art Students League of New York. He studied human anatomy, fine art, and sequential art.

Ancient Mesoamerican art -codices- inspired him to work on a series of paintings and comic books dedicated to the subject, such as Omimeh. He became an independent researcher and finally published his first groundbreaking book, "Ketzalpohualli-The Calendar of Ketzalkoatl."

Some of his work has been featured on the Mexican television program Agencia N22 (Canal 22), and used by the Instituto de Investigaciones Historicas (UNAM). Oscar is also part of the Los Angeles Metro artist pool.

Besides writing and researching, Oscar Ayotzintli also designs fine jewelry for other artists, galleries, and celebrities, and has several jewelry lines, including "Art Toy Jewelry," and "Ancient Elegance," the latter of which is based on Mesoamerican glyphs.
