Iris M Williams, the youngest of thirteen siblings, was born in a small town in Arkansas. She has always had a passion for writing and inspiring others. When life gets rough, Iris writes. Writing has always been her escape as well as her solace. She has a heart for empowerment, an eye for design/layout, and an empathetic ear for souls in crisis.
After spending nearly 25 years in Corporate America and working jobs for which she lacked passion and fulfillment, Iris boldly stepped out on faith! She resigned from a high-paying job and traveled nearly one thousand miles away from family and friends on a journey towards self-discovery! Today, Iris is a published author several times over, a writing consultant, speaker, and Independent Publisher.
Maya Angelou, one of Iris's favorite authors/mentors, is famous for her quote "When you learn, teach and when you get, give." Iris uses this mantra as well as her faith in God to guide her in life. Her hope is to use her love of words, gift for writing, and passion for life to spread God's message of hope and love - one story at a time!
Iris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing and English from Southern New Hampshire University, and is now pursuing a Masters of Science with a concentration in Marketing with Strayer University.
Iris believes that your story matters. While her publishing company, The Butterfly Typeface, remains her life's purpose (Revelation 12:11). Iris's future plans include launching a non-profit organization with intentions to continue assisting authors in reaching their writing and publishing goals/dreams.
In her spare time, Iris enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time with her friends and family!
