SAL STARLING

Since a young age Sal has enjoyed reading stories which sent a shiver down her spine. Early influences were John Wyndham’s sci-fi chillers later followed by James Herbert’s tales of horror – anything that made her heart pound or cause her to leap from the door to the bed after switching off the light.

A former teacher, Sal once took part in a survival challenge for the BBC’s ‘Tracks’ programme, spending time in a forest and surviving off the land (learning skills which might prove useful in a zombie apocalypse or, more likely, if the local shop should run out of essentials).

She also has an interest in medieval history and, along with writing and field archery, Sal enjoys walking in the Welsh countryside with her wolfhound, George.
