Oskar Cox Jensen

Oskar Jensen writes crime, literary, historical, and children’s fiction. His non-fiction focuses upon the history of song

and street culture. He is a BBC New Generation Thinker and was shortlisted for the 2023 Wolfson Prize.

His latest fiction is Helle & Death (Viper, 2024), the first in a new murder mystery series starring Danish detective Torben Helle. His latest non-fiction is Vagabonds: Life on the Streets of Nineteenth-Century London (Duckworth, 2022). Both are critically acclaimed.

Oskar is also a historian of song at Newcastle University, UK, a broadcaster, and a historical advisor for film and television. He is represented by Joanna Swainson.
