Mr. Joseph P Copeland

Joseph Copeland and his wife and editor Yvonne Copeland live in Sylacauga, Alabama, along with their assortment of rescue cats. Joseph is the author and illustrator of his book "Fish O'Toole's Adventures at Professor Preps' Academy, Volume I". This is the first in a series of children's books based on the antics of the children who attend a preparatory academy in a fictional town called Big Town, USA. Joseph's pen name is Fish O'Toole which is a nickname given to him by a childhood friend. Joseph's illustrations are the creation of his imagination and his stories grow from his artwork. Joseph has also recently illustrated the children's book "Victorious Victor Byrd" by Donna Rentfrow and Amber Behnke. He has had no formal art training but rather learned to draw during long road trips with his three siblings and his parents. He was the youngest of the children and the family would entertain him with a game they called the "Scribble Game". A family member would draw a scribble and Joseph would then create a picture from the scribble. In "Fish O'Toole's Adventures at Professor Preps' Academy, Volume II" which is planned for publication in early 2015, there are over 75 illustrations. In addition to his love of writing and drawing, Joseph is also a music lover and musician. He began playing drums after seeing The Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show. He continued to play his drums into adulthood and performed with R&B and Rock groups such as Revolver, Age of Innocence and AWB.
