I am the eleventh child (seventh son) of British immigrants to Australia. Proudly Australian, I live in a small city called Wollongong with my wife. I have a daughter and two sons who are now adults, well on their way to establishing their own footprint in society.
Growing up saw an existence that involved hand me downs and a mother who was proud that she could get one hot meal on the plate each day. These humble beginnings, and the struggle to get to where I am today, created a worldliness that helps devise realistic characters.
Writing allows me to exercise my creativity. How fantastic is it to conjure up a thought at any moment and plan this into a full-blown novel or even a series? That is what drives me.
With a preference to write in a descriptive style, I endeavor to paint a picture with words. Of prime importance is that readers can immerse themselves in the imagery as the scenes unfold on the pages before them.
Since taking up writing full-time I have a renewed interest in life and happily while away both the daytime and nighttime hours feathering the keys on my keyboard. Writing is my happy place.
