Mr. Dick Claassen

Dick Claassen has been writing for nearly his entire life. In fact, when Dick graduated from college, the first item he bought was a Smith Corona portable electric typewriter. Back then a purchase like this was equivalent to buying a computer today. But that typewriter, now considered to be a primitive writing instrument, was the tool he needed to set his writing career into serious motion. After a few years of writing newspaper and magazine articles and two math books, one a high school math textbook, Dick began writing fiction.

Eventually Dick put his attention to writing nonfiction. His first instruction book was titled, "Celebrate the Native American Flute". It was a music method book that taught the reader how to play the Native American flute with no music background required. Since that first book, Dick has written three more instruction books about the Native American flute: "Earthflute," which covers every music genre imaginable; "Sacred Native American Flute," which covers hymns, Christmas carols, and mastering the blues, and "Meditative Flute," tunes that calm and heal. He has also written the banjo solo book, and "5-string Banjo: Hot and Wild". And he has written the ukulele finger picking solo book, "Ukulele Finger Picking: No Music Background Required". Dick's latest release is a general information book about the ukulele titled, "Ukulele: DECODED", and "Native American Flute DECODED," "Rogue Haiku," and more. Dick has written under the pen name, Alan McGregor, and those titles reflect his writings under his own name. Dick has published more than 40 books in his writing career. When does Dick plan to finally hang up his MacBook Air and relax? Never. He says he will continue writing in the afterlife! Dick loves taking on challenging projects, and he dearly loves to write. We can expect more books, both fiction and nonfiction, from Dick's creative pen. Dick says, "All in good time...."
