Virginia Burton Stringer

Virginia Burton Stringer (Ginny) is a published playwright as well as author of the MAAGY™ Books young adult fantasy series. Her one act play "Can You Hear Them Crying?" has earned critical acclaim and has been republished in three other formats for Holocaust education. They are "Voices: Plays for Studying the Holocaust" by Janet E. Rubin (Rowman & Littlefield), and "Teaching About the Holocaust Through Drama" by Janet E. Rubin (Dramatic Publishing). As an educator, Ms. Stringer adjudicated district and state International Thespian Society events for more than 20 years. A member of Florida Association of Theater Educators and American Alliance for Theater in Education, she has presented numerous workshops on dramatic art in teaching the Holocaust. Ginny also conducted Holocaust education in-services for Pinellas County and Hillsboro County, FL public school teachers. She began her endeavor as a series novelist in 2004 when writing a one act play for children. However, as the story revealed itself, she realized it was no longer a play and not for children. Maagy's story is the allegorical coming-of-age adventures of all young women with its heartbreaks, triumphs, revelations and magic of the young Princess Maagy.
