Michael J. Lafferty

Michael J. Lafferty, GRI has lived in the South for more than 40 years with most of that time spent in Florida and Georgia. He has worked, played and done business with every type of whacko there is and uses those experiences in his writing.

Lafferty holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the University of Florida, is a former Special Investigator retained by OPM/NBIB to conduct background investigations for National Security and Top Secret Clearences, is the Broker/Owner of The Lafferty Group Real Estate & Consulting, was the 2013 & 2021 President for the Realtors Association of Indian River County, is a Licensed Real Estate Instructor, and has engaged in Commercial Banking for two major Banks.

In 2014 he saw a man twirling tax refund sign on the side of US 1 and thought that has to be a book character and had an idea. Using his experience as a Realtor in Florida, the crazy things that would happen in his office and his natural sarcasm, Storm Surge was born. The original title, Elephant Sanctuary, had to be scrapped after a few months. It seems that readers were searching for spiritual and inspirational books and this book is anything but that.
