John Brookland

John Brookland spent many years working for the R.S.P.C.A. in a wide range of roles starting as a clinic assistant, later a rescue officer in London’s East End before transferring to their Night Emergency Service. He was supervisor of their hospital in Holloway and manager of an animal home in Chichester. Between these posts he was a Bahamas Humane Society Inspector; Deputy Manager of Heathrow’s Animal Quarantine Station; consultant on dog control in Trinidad and a consultant at the Environmental Investigation Agency and IUCN on air transport of wildlife.

Now retired, he writes and publishes books on true crime, known for the Det. Edwin Fowle Investigates series, social history and memoirs of his animal welfare career through his Bitza Books imprint and also has an animal welfare blog. He has fourteen books available.
