J.D. Jenkins is a Christian family man, a board member of Faith of a Child Ministries and a
carpenter with a heart for serving.
In 2008 and inspired by his sister who died from cancer, a miracle experienced at her funeral and a later spiritual event in an old, restored Church at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, J.D. published his first book, “God,
It’s Just Not Fair".
J.D. and his beautiful wife Sherry went on their first mission trip to Honduras in 2012 and it
was a life-altering experience. They have since returned many times and these
experiences have led to a Higher Calling of service. The Jenkins’ plan to
move to the Smokies Mountains one day and start a missions-based ministry. It will honor God,
create jobs and help support worldwide Evangelical mission teams.
In 2014 J.D. published a three-book series entitled, “All Tangled Up.” The series takes
readers on an exciting, emotional roller coaster ride from the Midwest to the Smoky
Mountains through the life of a remarkable woman named, “Olivia.” The series has
positively impacted many lives.
Then, after much deliberation, J.D. published his personal true story, “Fried Pickles” with
Trinity Broadcasting Network’s Trilogy Publishing in 2023. The story is filled with great
adventures, terrible tragedies and real-life events. It shows readers that they
not alone in their struggles and faith is real.
Only God knows what the future holds for J.D. and his wife, but it will always involve serving
Jesus and people in need. J.D. lives by the motto, “Never be afraid to trust God and believe
in your dreams. Courageously reach for the stars and believe that you can succeed. The worst that can happen is that you fall short and only grasp a cloud. That is by
far better than sitting in a front porch rocker someday talking about all the things you could
have done with your life.
