Carrie Bloomston

Carrie is a full-time creativity enabler, art teacher, fabric designer, author, and mom to two amazing humans. Through her books, The Little Spark-30 Ways To Ignite Your Creativity (Stash Books, 2014) and The Big Book of Little Sparks (C&T Publishing, 2022), Carrie aims to help you celebrate your inner artist and step into the life of creativity and passion you have been wanting. (There is a little spark burning in you already–she just helps you tune into it.)

Carrie studied painting and glassblowing at the Rhode Island School of Design forever ago (BFA 1994) and spent the next decade recovering from it. She now teaches middle school art in Phoenix, Arizona and is a fabric designer for Windham Fabrics. Her work has been featured widely in books (below) and magazines including Oprah Magazine, Studios, QuiltMania, Where Women Create, Stitch, Cloth Paper Scissors, Amy Butler's Blossom Magazine, and Quilts & More, etc. Her DVD, Art Techniques for Quilt Design, is an art-school crash course for quilters and is filled with essentials such as figure drawing, composition and design.

When not working, you can find Carrie with her family making pizzas with her favorite people on earth. Mainly, she just rewarms laundry and then folds it. Read more at www.carriebloomston.com
