Winning Lifelong Customers with The Five Abilities guides you over the five personal connection hurdles that lead to a successful sale with decision-makers and influencers. It teaches you to address the five things people must see to make a buying decision in your favor.
The Five Abilities®
• VISABILITY – Being seen in the right way, by the right people, at the right time.
• CREDABILITY – Showing superior knowledge about your industry and that of you customers.
• VIABILITY – Fitting the needs and abilities of both the seller and customer.
• CAPABILITY – Delivering on the personal reasons people make business decisions.
• RELIABILITY – Being accountable when the unexpected happens–it always will.
Winning lifelong customers is the lifeblood of enterprise selling because it leads to repeat business and referrals that keep your business growing and profitable. The Five Abilities methodology teaches you how to master the personal side of selling in new and instantly memorable ways, leading you to make a habit of winning lifelong customers.
Rick's Success History
In MBA school, on the first day of class, each professor would introduce himself or herself and ask if we had questions. Without fail, someone would ask about the professor’s real-world experience. Most of our professors had real-world experiences but the few who did not had to work to gain credibility and acceptance with the students. It wasn’t always a fair assessment of the professor but it was a need from students who wanted to learn from people who had done it before.
Well—I’ve done it before. I’ve had sales success in small Corporate America (American Bank Stationery or ABS), very large global corporations (HP and Microsoft), and in a few entrepreneurial ventures (Papa Aldo’s Pizza Franchise and JacquiBob Music Productions). I’ve succeeded in all areas of the broad business category called sales:
• Cold-calling, telephone sales, and territory management—check
• Enterprise, global, and major account sales—check
• Entrepreneurial selling with no brand recognition—check
• Selling for a fire brand, market leader—check
• Selling for a fire brand, in decline—check
• Technical design wins and channel management—check
• Business development - Building the environment and infrastructure necessary for us to sell—check
• Convincing our kids to go to bed early on school nights—mostly check
Awards
• Rookie of the Year – American Bank Stationery
• President’s Club – Hewlett-Packard (Highest honor awarded salespeople)
• Team of the Year (5 different teams) – Microsoft (Highest honor awarded sales leaders and teams)
The Five Abilities® is all about sales execution. It’s about quickly and correctly determining your best next actions that result in winning more business and more lifelong customers.
