Gene DeRosa

Author Gene DeRosa was terrified when he watched his first horror film at almost ten years old. The film was Friday the 13th (1980). Once the initial terror wore off, he was hooked on horror and has been a fan since. Along the way, he also developed a love of all things trivia. He has been part of online trivia communities as a player, game writer, and host for more than fifteen years.

He decided to marry these two obsessions into one and write 6-13 A Friday the 13th Movie Trivia Book. It is a comprehensive compilation of more than 700 trivia questions and facts covering all of the original films (yes, even Part 9), as well as Freddy vs. Jason and the 2009 franchise reboot.

He reached out to Ari Lehman, who portrayed Jason Voorhees in the original film, to write the foreword for the book. Lehman, who now tours the U.S. and Europe with his band First Jason, loved the idea and shared some of his on-set memories as a fourteen year old boy.

The reception his inaugural book has received from horror fans has led to the planning of more horror-related trivia books. He is currently working on one for the Halloween movie franchise, which is due out June 13th, with plans for A Nightmare on Elm Street book after that. With so much great horror out there, and such a die-hard fan base of horror lovers, who knows where he will go from there.

He has also begun offering authentic signed merchandise from many of the Friday the 13th franchise cast members with plans to continue expanding the names available.
