Jean Harrod

Jean Harrod is a UK crime writer, based in North Yorkshire. As a former diplomat, she worked in British Embassies all over the world. Her debut novel 'Deadly Diplomacy' was the first in a series of crime thrillers featuring diplomat Jess Turner and DI Tom Sangster. 'Deadly Deceit' was the second in the series, and Missing in Shanghai the third. The last two books were both nominated for the People's Book Prize. She is working on book 4.

Each novel has a different plot, in a different country (mirroring the life of a diplomat), but the central characters run through the series.

Jean enjoys writing crime and suspense because gripping and tightly woven plots give her a chance to explore the psychology of what makes people commit chilling crimes. She uses that experience, and her considerable knowledge inside Government and behind the cloak of diplomacy, to shape her fictional plots and characters.

And for something different, Jean has written a ghostly thriller that will be published later this year. Watch this space....
