"Once you are bitten by the travel bug, your life is forever changed." - J. Matton.
Born in Texas, J. Matton joined the U.S. Air Force in the early '70s and later, the U.S. Merchant Marines. There he was able to see much of the world through the eyes of a seaman. After years of world travel he finally attended and finished college as a non-traditional student, and then began a career working as a scientist. But working in the same location day after day was, to him, as mundane as an electrician repairing circuits, or a mason laying bricks in the same patterns day after day. Still yearning for travel and adventure, he switched careers again and began working overseas for the US government. This job proved more to his liking as every day was exciting and different. During this period in his life, he was able to visit many countries in Asia where he still resides today. Studying exotic cultures is his favorite past time, with the exception of writing about them.
