Tadeusz Chabrowski born in Poland (in 1934) and has lived in the USA since 1962. He was a Pauline monk for 16 years. A prolific poet (with 18 published volumes) he is also a novelist (with 2 books). He studied theology and philosophy at Institute of St. Paul the First Anchorite in Cracow, Poland and philosophy at the Catholic University,of Dublin, Ireland. He received his M.A. from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Shortly after receiving Holy Orders in 1960 he was delegated to the Pauline Order's American province in Doylestown. In 1967 he resigned from religious life and married. The couple has one son.
He debuted in 1960 with several poems in "The Universal Weekly" (Tygodnik Powszechny), Poland's famous Catholic, independent weekly. He was subsequently published by English and American press, and also in leading literary and cultural periodicals in Poland. His poetry has been translated and published in the following languages: German, Hungarian, English, Spanish and Lithuanian. He has won six major awards, including the Koscielski Foundation Award (twice) in Switzerland, The World Poetry Award in the United States and The Union of Polish Writers Abroad Award in London for the best book of the year 2010. He lives and continues to write from his home in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where he has lived for many years with his wife Sophie.
