Terry Wheeler was born in Hampshire, England, and lived his childhood years in Cowplain, a Hampshire village north of Portsmouth, where some of his books are set. He is a music graduate and worked in secondary education in a large comprehensive school in West Sussex where he was responsible for the music and drama faculty.
He has four daughters and when they were younger the family spent a large portion of each summer holiday caravanning in various parts of France.
When Terry and his wife retired they moved to France, living first in Provence, near Avignon, and then moving up to Deux-Sèvres where they renovated a traditional farm house. They moved on to Lot et Garonne, half an hour's drive south from Bergerac, where they renovated a large house in the country. They are presently living in Brittany, not far from the coast, where they are concentrating on their large but overgrown garden.
Terry has written a number of books since his retirement and, although they are primarily aimed at younger readers they seem to have a following amongst adults as well who appreciate their humour. He is slowly making them available in the Kindle bookshop.
