Patrick Cherry (1973- ) is a born-and-bred Philadelphia native. He loves Philly and all things Philly (that includes soft pretzels, cheesesteaks, Philly sports teams, etc...)! Patrick's love and passion for writing was sparked in the 11th grade when he decided to take a creative writing class. After writing an essay on "Why Boys Should be Able to Wear Hats in School", his teacher encouraged him that he had talent and that he should write for the school newspaper. Being a snot-nose punk, he scoffed at the idea only to remember those words years later when he dreamed of becoming a writer like Hemingway after an American Lit course in college. He decided that "For Whom the Bell Tolls", other than being a Metallica song, was a literary masterpiece that should be required reading for all Americans. Most importantly, that spark from the 11th grade was reignited into a raging fire!
As his first book, "The Lovey Club, Incorporated", chronicles the travails of a girl feeling the pressure to grow up too quickly, his desire to write and express his societal concerns through works of fiction continues to grow.
Patrick lives in a Philadelphia suburb and finds 4am the best and only time he has to work on his craft. "It's not much," he says, "but it's all I got!"
