Iris Lindberg

Iris Lindberg, Ph.D., completed her undergraduate work at the University of California, Berkeley, and graduate work at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

She spent three years performing postdoctoral research at NIH, followed by an assistant professorship in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She ran the New Orleans lab for 23 years, focusing on secretory pathway biochemistry and cell biology (i.e., the folding, maturation, and packaging of secretory signaling proteins).

Two years after Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Lindberg moved the laboratory to the University of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore, where she is now a professor in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology.

In her free time, Dr. Lindberg enjoys gardening, catching up with family, and exploring the local theater scene with her husband.
