R. Thomas Burger

I was born in Auburn, N.Y., and have resided here all of my life. After high school graduation I attended Auburn Community College (now Cayuga County Community College) until joining the Auburn Police Department. After 39 1/2 years of service as a patrolman, evidence technician and detective I retired. But it was during this time I co-authored my first book with Sgt. Joe DiVietro--"Auburn Murder Stories," a collection of 24 actually murder cases that occurred in Auburn. Shortly after retiring I began my second book "It Happened In Auburn," a collection of 28 stories of historical events and people from the City of Auburn. My newest book "Along These Streets And Roads," has taken a year to write. It is a collection of 29 short stories again of historical events and people from Auburn and Cayuga County.
