Laurie Boyd

Laurie Boyd is the principal of Arrowhead Middle School in Kansas City, Kansas. During her 25-year career (so far), she has performed the following positions in her urban school district: substitute, Social Studies teacher, English teacher, Literacy Leader, School Improvement Facilitator, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Laurie has also led countless hours of professional development and has taught college courses for Ottawa University at Kansas City and Pittsburg State University.

Laurie enjoys collaborating with and supporting teachers, galvanizing the school team around a shared mission, and developing programs for struggling students. She loves to write about her highly motivated and deeply dedicated school staff and the successes they accomplish together at Arrowhead, a school where educators want to work and where students love to attend.
