Adam Retter

Adam is the Director of Evolved Binary Ltd and a co-founder of eXist Solutions GmbH.

Since 2005 Adam has been a core developer on the eXist NoSQL Application Platform. Passionate about the Web, Code Quality, Standards and Portable Code, Adam has been promoting XQuery as a Web Application development language.

Adam has 11+ years commercial experience in Java application development and data processing. Naturally fascinated by new technologies, for the last few years Adam has been predominantly developing and consulting in Scala and Akka alongside his XML interests.

Frustrated with the lack of quality documentation for eXist, Adam had been considering writing a book for eXist for a couple of years. When Adam met Erik Siegel at XML Prague, and Erik also suggested writing a book, it seemed like a great opportunity to work together.

Adam is also a member of the XML Guild, an Invited Expert to the W3C XML Query and helps out on the program committees of the XML Prague, XML London, Balisage and XML Summer School conferences.
