Donna J. Snyder

Snyder is the author of three collections of poetry. Most recently, NeoPoiesis Press published "The Tongue Has Its Secrets" in 2016. "Poemas ante el Catafalco: Grief and Renewal" was released by Chimbarazu Press in 2014. Virgogray Press published her chapbook "I Am South" in 2010 and released a second edition as a full-size book in 2014.

Snyder's work appears in journals, anthologies, and periodicals, both print and online, such as Red Fez, Vext Magazine, BorderSenses, Queen Mob's Teahouse, the El Paso Times, and Yellow Chair Review.

In 1995, she founded the not-for-profit, grassroots Tumblewords Project, and continues to present free weekly writing workshops and frequent performance events in the Texas/Chihuahua/New Mexico border region.

Her work as an activist lawyer and cultural organizer has won many recognitions. She lives in El Paso, Texas with four dogs.
