Rev. Dr. Ed Hird served for over thirty years as the Rector of St. Simon's Church North Vancouver, B.C. Ordained in 1980, he also served at St. Philip's Vancouver and St Matthew's Abbotsford. His current ministry focus is writing books & speaking at conferences on marriage & renewal.
Ed is the Past President and National Chaplain for Alpha Canada. While serving as the National Chair for Anglican Renewal Ministries of Canada, he was one of the three co-signers of the Montreal Declaration of Anglican Essentials. For the past 28 years, Ed has been privileged to write over 450 articles as a columnist on spiritual issues for North Vancouver newspapers.
Rev. Ed Hird's writings inform, entertain and inspire. They reflect his love for others in his devotion to Jesus Christ. He received his Doctor of Ministry in 2013, focusing on strengthening marriage. In the last number of years, Ed, with his wife Janice, has had the opportunity to lead conferences and retreats on marriage and renewal to tens of thousands in Honduras, Uganda, Rwanda, Washington State, BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Newfoundland, and Toronto.
