Donald Leo Lund was born on August 22, 1948 in Auburn General Hospital, Auburn, Washington, 20 miles south of Seattle, in the USA. His first home had no indoor plumbing, no public electricity, and was located on a one lane gravel road in the community of Covington, in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. He was the second eldest of five boys. He said that he didn't know that they were poor because no one ever told him.
The abuse that he suffered at the hands of his parents is the subject of his book "BRAIN DAMAGED" written in an attempt to bring to the attention of the general public the plight of abused and neglected children world-wide. All proceeds from this book will be donated for that purpose.
The book that he authored titled, "CRISIS SURVIVAL", is taken from his own true life experiences. He once told me that, "You can't make this stuff up, you have to have lived through it." When his best friend encouraged him to write a book so that he might help others by sharing his experiences, he agreed, and this book is the result.
In one two month period his father died, his marriage of 28 years dissolved, he was accused of a crime he did not commit, he lost his own business that at the time was turning over $100,000.00 per year, went through a bankruptcy, had six heart attacks and died once on the table during surgery, and incredibly enough, the list goes on.
When I asked him about writing this biography he just laughed and said, "no one would believe all of this junk could happen to one person unless they've been through it themselves." And he might have been right...
He held over fifty different jobs by the time he was thirty years old and stopped counting. He has been thrown out of school, the Army, jail (I'm not kidding), the house, an outlaw motorcycle gang, his marriage, and the list goes on. He tells me it was because he asked too many questions...He had over forty-five moving violations in or on various vehicles...
Now I ask you, who would believe this unless they had been through it themselves?
The book "HAPPINESS" is a condensed version of the "nuts & bolts" method that he has developed over the years of trial and error in his own search for that elusive state called "HAPPINESS" and he shares it with the reader in the hopes of saving them the time, resources, and energy that he has already expended in finding it himself.
At the present time he lives with a dog of suspicious heritage by the name of Bella Marie Girl Dog in Northeastern Oregon. She was so ugly the pound was going to put her down so he took her home. He said he understood ugly.
