As a Germanist and theologian, I shouldn't really have a chance – and yet I write crime novels. Why? Because they captivate me.
My characters Benedict Schönheit, Adil Uzman and Lena van Megeren investigate in the heart of Munich – a city full of change, charm and dark secrets. Every street corner, every office, every backyard can become the scene of a crime.
The cases are realistic and unforgettable: a dead museum director, a deceased diva, a series of murders in the New Economy – and a young girl whose fate still haunts me to this day.
In addition to crime novels, I write poetry, draw, publish photographs – and have written youth travel guides for Rome and Vienna. But no matter what else I do, it's the classic crime novels that always grab me and never let go.
