While attending the University of Miami, Mike Randolph launched his career

in the television industry as the assistant chief engineer for ABC affiliate WPLG-TV in Miami. He also worked as a cameraman, video tape operator, projectionist and station director. As a 1st Class FCC licensed communications engineer living in Key Largo, he assisted US Customs, DEA and Secret Service for special operations. After PoPsie passed away in 1978, Mike Randolph organized his father’s 150,000 + Jazz & Rock negatives. For the past 37 years he provided PoPsie photos of Jazz and Rock stars for major world-wide exhibitions, magazines, newspapers, and TV broadcasts regarding the works of the Visual Arts. He published his first book with Hal Leonard, “PoPsie” N.Y. - POPULAR MUSIC - Through The Camera Lens of William “PoPsie” Randolph. His father’s photos were part of the exhibit “Who Shot Rock and Roll: A Photographic History, 1955 to the Present” by Gail Buckland. The tour started at the Brooklyn Museum, NY and ended 28 months later in Auckland, New Zealand. The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts featured classic PoPsie photos in the exhibition “We Want Miles” - Miles Davis vs. Jazz. Mr. Randolph’s three occupations for the past 50 years still involves his favorite freelance positions as an Associate Producer and Floor Director, televising boxing worldwide for Belmonte Productions, SHOWTIME, and HBO International.
