Roman Egger

Roman Egger (DDr. phil.) is CEO of Smartvisions, a company that deals with data science and AI in tourism. He is also a university professor at Modul University in Vienna. Egger's research focuses on AI and the tension between information and communication technologies and their application and acceptance in tourism. In 2025, he was ranked among the top 1.5% of tourism and leisure researchers worldwide, has published numerous articles in leading international journals and has published 20 books to date.
