David Schmidt

After a career as a graphic artist, David relocated from Metro Vancouver to the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Canada, to enjoy a quieter pace of life.

There, he decided to write the science fiction novel he always wanted to read. He meticulously constructed a universe whose technology and sociology were reasonably achievable by the date in which the story is set.

“The trouble was, by the time I'd finished crafting this fictional world, I found that I had much more to say.”

As of this posting, the second novel in the series is almost complete, and he has full outlines for two more novels in the 'athiestSapiens' series.

David resides with his wife Laurie (the inspiration for the character 'Wendy'), and their two psychotic cats Betty and Serenity.

His son and best friend David Jr. served as a consultant from his home in Edmonton, Alberta. (“Our family refers to us as clones – we just call each other v.1.0 and v.2.0. We didn't see the point in having the same name twice on the cover...”).
