Morgan Gopnik works as a consultant to foundations, associations, and nonprofit organizations interested in environmental policy and management, with a focus on ocean issues and marine spatial planning. Clients have included the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the American Petroleum Institute, NOAA’s Coastal Services Center, the Foundation for Ocean Renewables, the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions at Duke University, SeaPlan, Monmouth University, and others. Dr. Gopnik holds an adjunct faculty position at American University. Previously Dr. Gopnik served as Director of the Ocean Studies Board at the National Academy of Sciences, as Senior Advisor to the U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy, and as Senior Vice President for Programs at the Ocean Conservancy. Gopnik holds a Ph.D. in Marine Science and Conservation from Duke University and a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering from Caltech.
