Paul Vance

Paul Vance is an American songwriter, record producer and author. With over 300 recorded songs and 20 Gold Records, Paul wrote his first song "Catch A Falling Star", recorded in 1957 by Perry Como. It was the first single to receive a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. In 1960, when bikini bathing suits were considered risque, Vance wrote and released the novelty hit "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" which lead to many surf movies and other films that built on the song's popularity.

He has written for almost every major recording artist in the world such as Frank Sinatra, Engelbert Humperdinck, Natalie Cole, and Johnny Mathis. Mathis recorded 20 songs for Vance including "Gina" which went gold independently and "What Will My Mary Say". Each song was included in Johnny's albums which earned Vance many Gold Records.

Reluctant at first to write his memoir, a bogus obituary released by a Connecticut newspaper and picked up by the Associated Press, Vance sat back, took a look at his fascinating life and decided to share his story.

Currently living in South Florida and working on the narration of his children's book and cd "Weep Pea and the Big Fat Juicy Red Strawberry", he continues to write and record new pop/country songs.
