Paul W. Westermeyer

Paul Westermeyer is a historian for the Marine Corps, his research has focused on the 1990-1991 Gulf War, Afghanistan, and the Frigate Navy period, but he works on all aspects of Marine Corps history. Prior to working for the Corps, he taught college history courses on ancient history, world civilization, and the Vietnam War. He has also worked on Late Roman/Early Byzantine military history and warfare in antiquity generally.

Since 2010 he has lectured on military history and wargaming topics as part of the 'War college' at the Historicon convention of the Historical Miniatures Gaming Society.

As a hobby, he writes on war gaming, fantasy role playing games, science fiction and fantasy novels. For seven years he was the "Off the Shelf" fiction review columnist for Kenzer & Company's KNIGHTS OF THE DINNER TABLE magazine.
