Michelle E. Brown is fearless. A champion for diversity at every level, she isn’t afraid to tackle the most difficult issues our communities face--her power lies in her ability to find common ground.

As a community organizer, an authentic speaker, and a dynamic leader, Michelle is a true voice. She has the presence and skills to motivate people for fundamental change on the most basic levels. Ms. Brown talks about a common language. “By shedding light on our ability to appreciate and respect each other,” she says, “we can move forward as a community.”

Michelle Brown is a guest columnist whose commentaries appear in print and on-line media. She is also a blogger and novelist. As a children's author, and a poet she has published two books “Jack With The Curly Tail” and “Wild Fruit Hidden in Open Spaces: Musings in Prose and Poetry.” Her second book of poetry “Three Layers and a Brassierre” is scheduled for release in October,2014

She can regularly be found on stages in metro-Detroit and Chicago as a storyteller, poet and performance artist. Michelle co-hosts a performance stage/open mic (Evolution @ The Aff Café) twice a month. She also co-hosts a weekly blog radio program “CAN WE TALK FOR REAL” from Chicago which was awarded the 2014 Esteem Award for Outstanding Blog Radio/Podcast.

With countless awards, accolades, commemorations, and guest appearances, Michelle E. Brown is constantly asking the question (to everyone from neighbors to diplomats), “What kind of world are we leading our children into?”

She empowers everyone she speaks to, to be responsible for the answer.
