Joey started writing his first novel at the age of 21 in whatever time he could spare between full-time study at University and full-time work in the hospitality sector. However, the lure of travel soon overtook his creative desires, at least for a time, and although he did graduate university, he never finished his first novel.
After three years spent travelling all over the world, he returned home, started a publishing company and again, in whatever time he had leftover, began formulating ideas for a new personal project: an epic, contemporary fantasy that would eventually become The Frailty of Perception; Book 1 of The Asher Bloom Chronicles.
When Joey is not writing or editing his novels, dabbling in graphic design, illustration, and web design, you can find him either travelling the world or working full-time in other endeavours. But he does like to take time out to enjoy a few of the simple pleasures in life. The first and foremost being a glass of single-malt scotch, or if none can be found, a delicious craft beer. Though if you do encounter him in your travels it’ll most likely be on a plane to somewhere remote, conversing with fellow travelers in a local bar, on a dive boat amidst the deep blue sea, or atop a mountain of fresh powder with a snowboard underfoot. However, he is never happier than when he is beside a warm fire, or a remote beach, with a good book in hand.
