Michael Vocino

Michael Vocino is a former Dean of Libraries at the University of Rhode Island where he has also taught political science and film and is currently the University Gifts Librarian. At the end of each academic year, like Monet (to whom he bears a resemblance), he walks into his garden until the end of July and comes out only to travel to his small apartment near the beaches of the Gargano Peninsula for 'Ferragosto.' During the academic year, as he approaches retirement, he catalogs gift books, reads, watches films and television incessantly, and writes short stories. He's also the full-time servant of his cockapoo, Joe, the alpha-male in their relationship. He did undergraduate work at Boston University. He has two Masters degrees from the University of Rhode Island and did work towards a Ph.D. at the Universiteit van Amsterdam.
