Thomas Ebelt gathered his writing material from his experiences living twenty years in New Mexico.
Relocating from Michigan as a young man, he quickly came under the spell of the majestic desert landscapes and Native American cultures. He found the ancient pueblo ruins to be especially fascinating as he traveled throughout the reservation lands and the region.
Those images stayed with him when he returned to Michigan after several years, and he decided to use them as background for a series of novels.
Incorporating his other interests, such as being a fan of early comic books and science fiction magazines of the 1930s, he developed his stories around the tumultuous times of America's Depression era leading up to WWII.
His hobbies are painting and illustration, collecting obscure comics and magazines, songwriting, and playing guitar and harmonica. A lifetime reader, his favorite authors include, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Edger Rice Burroughs, John D. MacDonald, Tony Hillerman, and many others.
Blacksparrow, his first novel, is a mystery/thriller that takes place on the big Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. It incorporates the culture and history of the area as it takes the reader on an adventure-laden journey of mystery, mysticism, and intrigue.
