Jason Heppenstall has spent his career on the inside of the systems that quietly run the world — first in the British civil service, then trading energy markets, before swapping spreadsheets for stories as a journalist and newspaper editor. That front-row seat has fed directly into informing his fiction writing. Native to the English Midlands but never one to stay still, he has lived in France, Spain, Denmark and Guatemala. He now lives by the sea in deepest Cornwall, where he writes and blogs at BeyondTheWasteland (co.uk) and TheMagicMountain on Substack.
