Roberta R. Barnes' enjoyment of animals, birds, and all of nature shows in her book 'What Tail?'. The story began when she asked the simple question, what if the animal in the forest that was said to be just your imagination was an animal that everyone forgets to remember.
Barnes' love for writing was first seen in her free verse poem in a college journal, and then in her column for all ages in a daily newspaper.
It was natural for a unique animal to come to life on the pages Barnes' typed while looking out a sunroom window across a field into the trees. A little girl, other unique animals and an incredibly wise old owl found their way onto the pages as she typed day after day. As the days of typing continued, secrets were revealed and questions answered through the wise old Mr. Owl and the discoveries made by the animals and little girl.
Roberta R. Barnes is Gendai Reiki-ho Shihan (master instructor), Komyo Reiki Kai Shihan, Master Herbalist and Speaker. While the manuals she writes for the classes she teaches are non-fiction based on facts in her Japanese Shihans' manuals and notes she took in their classes, she can shift gears to allow her creativity to come to life when writing fiction books and sculpting.
Her healing studio, where she teaches, is nestled among the trees in a small wildlife habitat. Walking among the pine trees you can almost visualize the woods tucked behind the meadow in which unique animals, an extremely wise old owl, and little girl experience the unexpected adventures in What Tail? by R.R. Barnes.
