Damon Tweedy

I've been a fan of medical stories since childhood. In medical school, I gravitated to the writings of doctors describing their encounters with patients as well as the rigors of medical training - issues that had become front and center in my own reality.

For any number of reasons, these authors largely avoided race - a subject that played a recurrent role throughout my medical training. It is in this spirit that I've written "Black Man in a White Coat" - a book that navigates the journey of my life as a doctor and as a black man in America.
