Barry LaValley has made a study of the transition into retirement for the past thirty years. Each year, his workshops are attended by thousands of participants seeking answers to their concerns about this next phase of life.
Barry has travelled extensively across both the U.S. and Canada at the behest of financial advisory companies, corporations and the general public to speak on the non-financial aspects of retirement. He has written prolifically on the subject and has been widely quoted in the press over the past twenty years. In fact, the Toronto Sun called Barry “Canada’s self-help retirement guru” in 2007.
Barry’s approach to retirement planning has been adopted by several major financial institutions on both sides of the border as well as the human resources departments of a number of large corporations.
While his formal education focused on psychology, he has also worked as an Investment Advisor and senior mutual funds executive in the Canadian financial services industry. In addition, Barry’s consulting practice extends currently to the U.S., Australia, Mainland China and Great Britain.
