Growing up in the Midwest, Donnetta Booker developed a passion for reading, and that passion inspired her to start writing her own short stories and poems. She now resides in the Southeast with her husband and son, who shares his mother’s love for the written word.
Donnetta has long been active in her church and her community where she has worked with young people in the realm of academics, theatre, and community service. This involvement confirmed her belief that children are much smarter than adults give them credit for, and often thrive when given the opportunity to express themselves comfortably.
Donnetta believes that writing is an excellent way for children to unlock their imagination, discover their hidden strengths, share their gifts, and gain self-confidence. She currently teaches creative writing workshops for children, where she is committed to helping them find their voice and be confident writers.
