Barbara writes children’s picture books about wildlife that are entertaining as well as educational. They are cute stories about friendship and being kind, but also contain facts about the animals. Readers scan QR codes and listen to animal calls, an added feature unique to her wildlife books.
Barbara also writes heartfelt stories about grandparents and their grandchildren. Her two Grandpa books are based on her father who loved to tease and play with his grands. The Grandmother books combine tradition with fun memories.
Larry is a yellow lab mix who rescued the Renner family. Barbara has taken so many pictures of this adorable guy, she felt compelled to compile a book about him so people of all ages can be inspired by his wisdom. "Larry’s Words of Wisdom" won the 2022 Royal Dragonfly Book Award Contest for best Coffee Table / Gift Books.
When Barbara’s not grappling with the computer, she’s outside soaking in the sun’s energy; and there’s a lot of sun in Arizona where she’s lived for over 45 years. Barbara is a firm believer in “if you don’t use it, you lose it.” That’s why she walks, hikes, swims, dances, pulls weeds, works in her garden, and occasionally attempts to play golf.
Travel is another passion of Barbara’s. She and her husband drove an RV throughout Arizona, most of the Western United States, and ended up in Minnesota for the summers. That’s where she discovered the loons. Barbara’s world travel partners are her son and daughter. They love seeking out other countries' traditions, snapping photos, driving on the left-hand side of the road, and sampling food and wine.
Barbara visits elementary schools with her books and presentations, both in classrooms and virtually or anywhere loons, quail, and Trumpeter Swans are found. Look her up at www.RennerWrites.com.
