I am a wife, mother, grandmother, author, and passionate Jesus follower. I am so thankful that the God who created us, also “enables” us to do whatever He asks of us, whether it is loving our family well, sharing our Story at work, learning to trust Him, or getting out of bed to pray in the morning.

As a women’s ministry director I saw how needed Christian books were that contained analogies and stories, making timeless truths assessable to every type of reader. I was fortunate enough to have two books published. When they eventually went out of print, I began to get requests from people trying to find copies so I decided to self publish. The books are:

Learning to Trust God

This book is based on the familiar proverb, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6. The premise of the book is that each line (truth) builds on the one before enabling us to grow in our capacity to trust God. (Chapters include “What about evil in the world?” “What about other people?” “Turning worry into faith” “Is it good or is it bad?” “Decisions, decisions, decisions”)

Learning to Pray. (Formerly Near to the Heart of God)

This book is based on another familiar scripture: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-29. The premise of this book is that prayer is the way our relationship with God is built. First we need to learn to come (or get started in prayer), then we begin to take on his yoke of learning in relational prayer, next we learn about God as we walk through life’s circumstances with Him in a prayer relationship, and lastly we take on his yoke or burden for the world around us through intercession.

Each book includes a study guide and is great for use in small groups or as a devotional. (Learning to Pray is currently available on Kindle Unlimited.)

There are so many great books out there on these subjects (there is a list at the end of each book actually) and excellent ones being written now by amazing younger women and men of faith. But perhaps my style of writing will be the one that speaks to you.
