Sarah Lightman

Dr. Sarah Lightman is an award-winning artist, editor and writer.

Her autobiographical graphic novel "The Book of Sarah" (2019) is published by Myriad Editions and Penn State University Press. Her first edited volume, "Graphic Details: Jewish Women's Confessional Comics in Essays and Interviews" (McFarland 2014) was awarded The 2015 Susan Koppelman Prize for Best Feminist Anthology, The 2015 Will Eisner Award for Best Scholarly/ Academic Work and A Jordan Schnitzer Book Award (2016). She curated the internationally touring and critically acclaimed exhibition "Graphic Details: Confessional Comics by Jewish Women" and she co-founded, and was co-director of Laydeez do Comics.
